EDUCATION:
- BCaBA certification
- RBT certification
- BCAT certification
- Behavior analysis certification from an organization that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute
- High school diploma AND have completed a 40-hour training covering the RBT Task List as evidenced by a certification that includes the name of the responsible trainer, who is certified as a BCBA or BCaBA
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in providing ABA services is recommended.
DUTIES:
- Implement individualized treatment and behavior intervention plans as defined by the Behavior Specialist Analyst in home, school and/or community settings
- Successfully prepare for and implement data collection methods defined within the plan.
- Participate in and contribute to the ongoing assessment of consumer strengths, needs, abilities and preferences
- Facilitate offerings to families and caregivers through the modeling and delivery of interventions within plan and complimenting strategies as directed by the Licensed Behavior SpeciaIist/BCBA/BCa BA
- Maintain thorough, timely and complete data collection and treatment records
- Demonstrate exceptional customer service skills throughout all interactions with individuals and their families
- Demonstrate an understanding of appropriate implementation of evidence–based assessments.
- May also include mediating or restricting any violent behavior.
- Providing direct client care in one-on-one and group settings.
- Collecting and recording data based on client behavior.
- Communicating with clients, parents, and caregivers regarding client progress
- Assisting behavior specialist analysts with behavior reduction assessments and skills acquisition.
- Assisting behavior specialist analysts in the preparation of client materials
•Ability to provide assistance inimplementing alternative activities to redirect challenging behaviors.
- Ability to provide assistance in providing supervised recreational and cultural opportunities.
- Ability to provide one on one discrete trial instruction using principles of ABA
- Ability to provide intervention in the natural environment and collect appropriate data.
- Attend all evidence -based skills trainings, staff meetings, supervision meetings that are either mandatory or requested by the program supervisor.
- Complete and file all paperwork documentation according to Journey Center and Pennsylvania Mental Health regulations on a timely basis.
- Complete performance self-evaluation yearly.
- Conduct therapeutic and behavioral assessments and interventions in the client’s natural environment (i.e. home, school, and community).
- Demonstrate support of the Journey Center’s mission and philosophy in the delivery of services.
- Document all client-related contacts.
- Maintain and protect client and agency confidentiality.
- Maintain confidential documentation of client records.
- Maintain regular contact with other client treatment providers
- Monitor voicemail every 24- 48 hours.
- Notify family, office and BC/BCBA when unable to maintain a scheduled visit.
- Promote personal and co-worker safety during work duties.
- Represent and participate in Journey Center professional and community activities as requested.
- Schedule treatment sessions with the client and or family on a regular basis.
- Work to achieve and maintain quality and customer satisfaction in the delivery of services to external/internal customers.
